Mentor-Facilitator Extraordinaire

Vance Stevens
I first heard of Vance Stevens many years ago—probably in the mid-1990s; I first met him (albeit briefly) after a presentation he did at the TESOL conference in Vancouver, BC in 2000. In Vancouver, I was greatly impressed with the amazing community of practice that he founded—but I was also intimidated by all the accomplishments of that group, and even though I wanted to join, I didn't. I'm very proud to be a member now, however.
I can only describe Vance as a mentor-facilitator extraordinaire—one who has helped countless individuals (primarily, but certainly not entirely, ESOL teachers) to experiment with, use, and share experiences concerning computer-mediated communication. Vance has a great gift for "herding cats" and of combining robust technological skills with what he calls F.U.N. (Webheads know what this means). I greatly look forward to the weekly Webheads meetings at noon GMT at Tapped In and also look forward to the recently-started Webheads Skypecasts (scheduled at the same time).
