A Colleague and Role Model

Diane Stonebrink

Diane, a fellow ESL teacher at Estrella Mountain Community College, is much more than a colleague: she's also a role model, particularly in online materials creation (an area that has interested me for a long, long time). I don't know where she finds the time to discover new software, learn how to use it, and then to create a wide variety of online activities for use by her students. She's done outstanding things with Wimba, created an assortment of finely crafted exercise and practice materials, largely taught herself how to use Macromedia Flash, and much, much more.

Diane is, however, modest and definitely not an attention-seeker; accordingly, it's difficult to find generally available materials that she has created. The links below should, however, give a good idea of the high quality of Diane's work—and show why I respect and admire her.

Thank you, Diane, for being not only a wonderful colleague, but also a commendable role model.
